Furnace
Kent Tate

EUROPE PREMIERE

Furnace is an exploration of the natural and manufactured worlds that co-exist where I live in western Canada. Even though my focus was the ever changing presence of shadow and light I was never able to separate my imagination from the political, commercial, and cultural impacts that shaped everything I saw.

A woman steps out of the past: in this cemetery of memories, wounds, and corpses, she remains enclosed, imprisoned, as if in a clear serum; surrounded by an amniotic liquid that will maintain her for a long time to come.

Scarcity
Przemek Węgrzyn

EUROPE PREMIERE

An ecological fairy tale in which a descendant of a cloned animal tells the story of vanished humanity. Humans brought enormous changes for Earth during the last two centuries. With climate change, the future of our existence on the planet seems uncertain. Being part of the planet's life and ecosystem, our existence depends on certain favorable climate conditions. It is, thus, vulnerable to the environment changes we may face in the near future. 'Scarcity' is a journey through desolate spaces, abandoned by humans, lost in time and history. The guide, a descendant of one of the first cloned animals, reveals memories of Earth's inhabitants trying to understand what happened.

Realignment

ITALIAN PREMIERE

A visual insight into my personal experimentations of attempts to realign myself with new ways of thinking and being . One object, one piece of matter, one piece of material but seen through many pairs of eyes with differing opinions & views skew the same form into different variations of visual context. The eternally changing thought processes of the mind of one person can also be imagined to be different pairs of eyes all looking at the same object but in different ways. A different set of eyes for each stage of the past, present and infinite variations for the future. How does one ascertain which vision is the true/real? The choice is ultimately the viewer's as much as it is mine. Blurring the lines of what is real and what is not, in the current climate, is widening the spectrum of what is possible and the lines between reality and imagination are becoming increasingly blurred.

Gaka
Tomoko Mukaiyama, Reinier van Brummelen
Netherlands / 2020 / 0:24:26

ITALIAN PREMIERE

The sky is the way to the universe, if people are awed by nature, they become modest in order to be able to connect there. GAKA is the Japanese word for noble song. GAKA is a ritual performance in which dance, music and stage design contribute equally to an aesthetic experience together with the specific location and time of day. GAKA is an enquiry into a borderland where performance and nature are actively connected and separated.
