In the Middle Ages, in Florence, Italy, a revolt of the poorest workers of the wool factories, the Ciompi, overthrows the government. Today, as I talk to the activist historian who brought this revolt to light, the workers of the modern textile industry are rising up. In the industrial suburbs, I discover the echoes in the present. In Paris, I dialogue with the militant researcher who has brought this revolt back to light. We question together the political stake of the writing of the History in the construction of a of a fertile collective memory.
